Ellen (Light : Scottish)
You are charming, talented and have a very positive attitude to life so it is hardly surprising that you attract success and recognition. Focussed and patient you understand that material rewards are a result of discipline. Being so creative and with a need for self-expression you may be drawn towards the arts, travel is also likely to be important. Peaceful, poised and understanding you do not let anyone or anything disturb your innate calm. You are tolerant of others no matter how their behaviours or beliefs differ from your own. Not attached to material or worldly affairs you are free to express your true self. Displaying great wisdom and serenity people are naturally drawn to you for guidance and counsel. Your courage and presence of mind see you through any adversity.

Interesting stuff. Hmmm.
I didn't watch. In fact, I was rather annoyed that it pre-empted two of my favorite shows, House and Love Monkey. I had a pretty good idea of what the Shrub was going to say (more of the usual talking points, for an hour) so I avoided it. However, among my friends, I've found a good couple of "bookend" articles/opinion pieces for the before & after.

The "before" (found by [livejournal.com profile] filkertom):

The State of The Union by William Rivers Pitt.

The "after" (found by [livejournal.com profile] syreene):

W Places Apple On Head, Dares Nation To Shoot it Off by Tom Gilroy.

Both interesting & to the point.
