Well, they asked me to tell my friends, and while I don't do everything I hear on the radio, in this case I'm making an exception.
I will encourage people to listen to WKLU
101.9 FM out of Indianapolis. They are a non-corporate
radio station which plays a good range of music - mostly 70's & 80's with some 60's & 90's+ thrown in. The flavor is pretty much "classic rock" (Stones, U2, Steely Dan, Zepplin, Pat Benetar, Styx, etc.) They only stop for commercials once an hour (around x:50) and only play 4 commercials per break.
They've started adding traffic reports and some canned news reports (from one of the local affiliates) in the morning and traffic in the afternoons. They play requests
. They have live
on-air personalities - good ones who don't chatter too much.
If you're not local, they also have a streaming feed off the website.
Anyway, if that's your kind of music, I am hereby "telling my friends" about them. If you aren't listening to them already, you might want to give them a try. If you don't like 'em, that's not my fault, but I'm all for anyone who's against corporate (*cough*ClearChannel*cough*) radio.
This has been an unpaid, unpolitical announcement. I now return you to your regularly scheduled blather.
