A message to my sweetie
May. 4th, 2006 06:40 pmThis is a message to my darling man, using song lyrics to say what I'm not eloquent enough to say, again. ;)
A Natural Woman
by Carole King
Looking out on the morning rain
I used to feel uninspired
And when I knew I had to face another day
Lord, it made me feel so tired
Before the day I met you, life was so unkind
But your love was the key to peace my mind
Cause you make me feel, you make me feel, you make me feel like
A natural woman
When my soul was in the lost-and-found
You came along to claim it
I didn't know just what was wrong with me
Till your kiss helped me name it
Now I'm no longer doubtful of what I'm living for
Cause if I make you happy I don't need no more
Cause you make me feel, you make me feel, you make me feel like
A natural woman
Oh, baby, what you've done to me
You make me feel so good inside
And I just want to be close to you
You make me fell so alive
Cause you make me feel, you make me feel, you make me feel like
A natural woman
I love you, Tony. :)

Update to "No Satisfaction"
Apr. 26th, 2006 11:29 pm(In reference to my post here.)
Well, apparently we all got our legs pulled:
Stones deny hotel tiff with U.S. president.
However, I feel that I am not alone; this story was picked up widely, and even that bastion of "truthiness", Bill O'Reilly, fell for it (as seen here at the bottom of the page).
So, I'm sorry if it didn't happen...I kinda hope it did & the Stones are simply publicly denying it...but I'm a bad girl. ;)

GWB Can't Get No Satisfaction
Apr. 25th, 2006 06:38 pmFound this yesterday, thought it was immensely amusing:
Mick Beats George To Suite
To sum up, Mick Jagger has the Royal Suite reserved at the Imperial Hotel in Vienna, Austria for when the Stones are on their tour this summer. GWB is going to Vienna for some sort of summit meeting. His people called Mick & asked him to give the suite up to GWB.
Mick said "no". :D
I don't know that I can express exactly how amused this makes me. GWB is *so* used to pushing people around that it's nice to see someone (even politely) push back.
As seen on a message board in reference to this issue: "Mick certainly isn't showing much sympathy for the devil."
*chortle*

Anti-war Song Meme
Mar. 26th, 2006 10:57 amIf I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna go all the way...

By Arlo Guthrie
( You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant )
When you see this in my journal, post an anti-war song in yours (if you want).

[Well, I've been tagged by both
anjala and
confusedjew, so I don't really have a choice. ;)]
List 7 songs that mean something to you right now, no matter what genre, style, if they have lyrics etc etc then tag 7 other people to do the same.
1. Freewill - Rush
2. The Rainbow Connection - Kermit the Frog
3. Blue on Black - Kenny Wayne Shepherd
4. Bring Me To Life - Evanescence
5. Piano Man - Billy Joel
6. Hold On Loosely - .38 Special
7. Walking in Memphis - Marc Cohn
It's late...that's all I can think of right now; I was going to do some extras, but they're not coming.
[EDIT 1/27/06] I've thought of four more, including one I can't believe I missed:
1. Kyrie - Mr. Mister (I used to call this my "theme song", I'm not sure how I forgot to include it.)
2. Huron 'Beltane' Fire Dance - Loreena McKennitt
3. Just about any version of Pachabel's Canon, although I'm particularly fond of George Winston's version off the "Winter" album.
4. Mary Ellen Carter - Stan Rogers
Bear in mind, these are in no specific order.
[/EDIT]
I'll ask (not tag, necessarily):
alaindan,
laurelyn22,
netdancer,
syreen,
trcabbage,
velvetsteel and
ero.
