Well, they asked me to tell my friends, and while I don't do everything I hear on the radio, in this case I'm making an exception.
I will encourage people to listen to
WKLU 101.9 FM out of Indianapolis. They are a
non-corporate radio station which plays a good range of music - mostly 70's & 80's with some 60's & 90's+ thrown in. The flavor is pretty much "classic rock" (Stones, U2, Steely Dan, Zepplin, Pat Benetar, Styx, etc.) They only stop for commercials once an hour (around x:50) and only play 4 commercials per break.
They've started adding traffic reports and some canned news reports (from one of the local affiliates) in the morning and traffic in the afternoons. They
play requests. They have
live on-air personalities - good ones who don't chatter too much.
If you're not local, they also have a streaming feed off the website.
Anyway, if that's your kind of music, I am hereby "telling my friends" about them. If you aren't listening to them already, you might want to give them a try. If you don't like 'em, that's not my fault, but I'm all for anyone who's against corporate (*cough*ClearChannel*cough*) radio.
This has been an unpaid, unpolitical announcement. I now return you to your regularly scheduled blather.
