For those of you who requested nice things in my original post here (and a couple of bonuses.)

[livejournal.com profile] trcabbage: I've always enjoyed your stories & scene reports here and in SSB-B (where we met) and admire your strength in dealing with the hardships thrown in your path.

[livejournal.com profile] indfireboy: You're kicking that monkey's ass. I'm proud of you. :)

[livejournal.com profile] netdancer: Even though we don't see each other very often, you're always there - not just for me, but for anyone in your chosen family.

[livejournal.com profile] valkyrwench: You're thoughtful, compassionate, open-minded, strong, and fun. You're also one of the (many) people on my "I *really* want to meet that person in person" list.

[livejournal.com profile] per_solo: I'm really glad we're friends. I enjoy spending time with you (in person) and reading what you have to say (here in LJ). You're also as much of a pop culture junkie as I am, even though we might not have the same addictions. ;)

[livejournal.com profile] confusedjew: I'm enjoying getting to know you. I love your movie reviews, and like talking to you when we see each other.

[livejournal.com profile] jasper_kitt: You're a good friend, and one of the best storytellers I've ever met - even when I suspect that the story might be a little bit exaggerated. ;) You've helped me out when I've been in trouble, and I appreciate it.

[livejournal.com profile] tsjafo: I enjoy reading your journal; you help me see things from a different perspective and help keep my mind open and working. I've also noticed that you seem to be very reliable when it counts.

BONUS NICE THINGS

[livejournal.com profile] janetmiles: I enjoy hearing what's going on in your life, especially since I feel like we have a lot in common. (You get a bonus because the meme is "your fault". ;) )

[livejournal.com profile] royalcrow: Yeah, it's a "gimme". You're my best friend - among other things, and I'm thankful every day you're in my life.

If there's anyone out there who'd like to hear something nice from me about themselves, comment to this post. :)
I found this while mucking about on MSNBC today via their "Test Pattern" blog. It's a comparison that someone put together of Richard Scarry's Best Word Book Ever, comparing the 1963 version with the 1991 version. Fascinating stuff about societal changes, gender roles, and political correctness.

The Best Word Book Ever, 1963 & 1991.
