Getting to know me...

(Found this via several journals, the latest is
syreene.)
The problem with LJ: We all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.
(BTW, I think I know a fair amount about quite a few of the people on my f-list, but this is the meme wording, so I'm sticking with it. I don't claim to know everything, but I also think most of the people on my f-list are pretty open.)

Date: 2006-01-12 04:42 am (UTC)I've bought some yarn & a crochet hook/knitting needles. I can chain stitch in crochet, but nothing else. (I learned chain stitch when I was 6 or so & that's the one thing I've never forgotten.) I used to know how to knit (barely) but I've tried it again from the book that came with the kit, but casting on isn't making any sense to me & I got frustrated. ;)
I'd like to figure out the knitting or crocheting thing; I think it would be nice to have something to keep my hands busy while I watch tv that doesn't require quite the same sort of concentration of needlepoint.

Date: 2006-01-12 05:55 pm (UTC)I'm going to have to break it down into two categories: 1) Current shows, 2) Classic shows.
Current Shows
The best I can do is probably my top 5 (not in any particular order):
1. Good Eats (because I'm a food geek.)
2. The West Wing (because
3. House (because I love Hugh Laurie...and the show.)
4. CSI (because I love crime dramas.)
5. Wanted (mid-season show on TNT, good cop drama.)
5. Numb3rs (I just like it, especially the math geek.)
The Daily Show should also be on this list, because I love Jon Stewart & think he's *so right* most of the time, but I can't figure out where to put it. ;)
Classic Shows
Again, my top 5 (in no particular order):
1. Babylon 5 (the best sci-fi series ever, IMHO.)
2. Law & Order (yeah, it's still on the air, but it's a classic.)
3. M*A*S*H (I think I've loved this show most of my life.)
4. WKRP in Cincinnati (I haven't found anywhere showing it, and it's not on DVD, but I still love it.)
5. Star Trek: TNG (The only one I *really* like; I thought DS9 was pretty good for a while, too.)
There's lots of other shows I like, but those are the ones that I am most likely to be watching at any point. There are 3 "reality shows" I like (American Chopper, While You Were Out, & Trading Spaces) but not enough to really have them make the top 5 - I have to be in the right mood to watch them.

Date: 2006-01-12 11:21 pm (UTC)It's almost getting to the point with L&O that I'd rather watch the reruns on TNT than new episodes. ;)
I keep working in medically related fields, but I *do* watch a lot of cop/law shows. I might be ok helping you *hide* a body. ;)
